Revised VeriSign Registry Agreements
Note: The agreements on this page differ from those that were ultimately adopted and signed. Indices to the final agreements appear here: On 2 April 2001 the ICANN Board of Directors approved revisions to the existing registry agreement with VeriSign, Inc., under which the .com, .net, and .org top-level domains are operated. The Board's approval was based on extensive discussions within the ICANN community (see the VeriSign revisions information page for background) and on improvements and clarifications offered by VeriSign in an exchange of letters between its CEO, Stratton Sclavos, and ICANN's CEO, Stuart Lynn. The necessary updating of the agreement documents was completed and, on 16 April 2001, they were delivered to the US Commerce Department, which must ratify them.
